ONTARIO LEFT BEHIND IN IMMIGRATION?

See article from the Globe and Mail. Ontario's Liberals can complain all they want, but they continue to miss the boat: immigrants are going West because the job opportunities are there, not because they have a better immigrant nominee program. While it is true that the Western provinces have been more aggressive, that is so because their economic growth has the career opportunities that immigrants crave, and on the other hand, Ontario has let its economy stagnate and dependant on handouts. High taxation in Ontario is also a big problem as it makes it uncompetitive. Immigrants still come to Ontario, but its policies encourage those we do not need and often depend on government programs, rather than those we require to grow the economy. If Ontario would create more jobs, immigrants would follow, not the other way around.

Ontario creates its own immigration strategy, says Ottawa’s policy hurts province - The Globe and Mail
