MAN ILLEGALLY IN CANADA CAUGHT AFTER HE FELL FROM ROOF

It is interesting that a person who is under a warrant appears to have been so confident that he would not be caught by CBSA that he undertook a fairly dangerous job. The article does not disclose the reasons why the arrest warrant was issued, whether it was a simple overstay, refugee claim failed or criminality. Send him a bill for the cost of health care and airlifting him to the hospital. That should come to a few hundred thousand dollars.

Injured man wanted on immigration warrant

A Mississauga man who was airlifted to hospital after falling off a roof in West Gwillimbury on Wednesday will be contacted by Immigration Canada officials upon his release.
At about 11 a.m. Wednesday, emergency crews rushed to a private address on Holland St. W. after a worker, believed to be in his 40s, fell off a roof he was re-shingling. The man struck his head on a large waste bin behind him and landed on the asphalt driveway.
The man was subsequently flown to a Toronto trauma centre by an ORNGE helicopter where he was admitted to the intensive care unit. He suffered serious head injuries in the fall, police said, and his condition is being monitored by medical staff.
However, the injured man will have some explaining to do once he is well enough to leave hospital. There is an outstanding immigration warrant for him and Immigration Canada will be in touch upon his recovery, South Simcoe Police Staff Sgt. Steve Wilson said.
“I can confirm that there was an outstanding immigration warrant on the man,” he said. “We have notified Immigration Canada, who will follow up when the man is able to be released from the hospital.”
Police and the Ontario Ministry of Labour continue to investigate the incident.
