ILEGAL WORK LEADING TO RESIDENCY?

The report below is not quite correct as there is more than meets the eye. While it may be possible that sometimes those working illegally in Canada use their illegal work as a basis to comply with the work experience requirement, in practice it is extremely difficult for a visa officer to accept such experience, which is often in a low NOC occupation. While applicants are obligated to disclose it in their applications, they must also disclose that they had no work permit, failing which it may constitute a misrepresentation and the basis for refusal of the application.
